About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dairy Herdsperson to join our team at Afton Hills Farm. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our dairy cattle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care: Handle and care for dairy cattle, including monitoring their health and administering medications as needed.
  • Calving Process: Monitor the calving process and provide assistance as required.
  • Farm Machinery and Equipment: Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, including tractors and milking equipment.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers.
  • Quality Control and Records: Maintain quality control and production records, including monitoring milk production and animal health.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, and supervise staff as needed.
  • General Farm Duties: Perform general farm duties, including maintaining equipment and facilities.
Work Environment

As a Dairy Herdsperson at Afton Hills Farm, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a large workload. You will be required to work under pressure and in a physically demanding role.

Requirements
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
