Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team at Horizon North. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical work on new manufactured and renovated buildings, including loading and unloading materials, and moving materials to work areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and adhere to all safety procedures of the workplace.
  • Carry out electrical work on new manufactured and renovated buildings, including rough-in and finishing electrical work.
  • Load and unload materials, and move materials to work areas.
  • Perform tasks such as splicing, joining, and connecting wires, as well as troubleshooting and isolating faults.
  • Install, replace, and repair electrical controls, panel boxes, HVAC units, and furnaces.
  • Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults, and the integrity of circuits.
  • Clean and store tools and equipment, and maintain a clean work site.
  • Liaise with the Area Superintendent and Maintenance Planner to ensure all maintenance issues are addressed and required paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High school education and a Journeyman Certificate in Electrical.
  • 5 years of electrical experience, with practical knowledge of electrical techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry and company codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
  • Able to operate all hand and power tools required to perform tasks specific to the trade.
  • Able to demonstrate organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills.
  • Able to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work individually and as a team member.
  • Able to safely and comfortably carry out physical duties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to health and safety of self and co-workers.
