Baker Lead

The Lead Baker is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of food according to recipes and production guidelines. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and assign daily work assignments to a food service team and oversee the completion of tasks
- Train and guide staff on job duties, proper food safety and sanitation procedures, cooking methods, and equipment operation
- Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely use a variety of utensils, including knives
- Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, and grills
- Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods
- Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
- Previous experience as a supervisor in a related role preferred
- Experience as a baker or cook required
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision required
- Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
- Required to obtain food safety certification(s)
- Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
