About the Role

The North West Company is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Analyst to join our Corporate Team. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting corporate accounting and financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation of monthly consolidated financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist in the review and analysis of financial data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the treasury team to ensure accurate and timely cash position updates, banking reviews, and reconciliations.
  • Provide support for PeopleSoft (general ledger) and variance/issue analysis.
  • Prepare and review corporate account reconciliations, identifying and investigating variances.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly reports and analysis to support the publicly disclosed consolidated Financial Statements and Management Discussion & Analysis.
  • Support the CEO and CFO Sub-Certification process.
  • Initiate and obtain necessary approvals for corporate cash movements.
  • Prepare monthly Fixed Asset accounting reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Ensure right-of-use assets and lease liabilities are accounted for in accordance with IFRS.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary business education, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and working towards or anticipated enrollment in the CPA program.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks within strict timelines.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft is considered an asset.
