About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Engineer, Water Treatment Plants to join our team at EPCOR. As a key member of our Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment Plants team, you will be responsible for providing engineering and project management expertise to execute planning initiatives and activities related to the Edmonton WTPs and Reservoirs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management and execution of planning for the Edmonton WTPs and Reservoirs, including leading planning activities to support integrated resource planning, long-term capital planning, and performance-based rate submissions.
  • Develop, implement, and review planning documents, technical memos, performance-based rate documents, and business cases, conceptual designs, and design basis memorandums.
  • Help maintain optimum and balanced asset and capital plans for the Edmonton WTPs and Reservoirs.
  • Assist with the preparation of integrated resource planning revisions and assist with preparation and delivery of planning updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the execution of external engineering planning studies and project development, including leading procurement of external consulting services, managing consultant relationships, and reviewing technical work completed by others.
  • Support planning-related stakeholder engagement activities for Edmonton WTPs and Reservoirs, including facilitating discussions with external companies and organizations seeking partnerships with EPCOR.
  • Support capital planning and projects, including effectively handing over projects after completion of planning and project development.
  • Support initiatives related to process improvement and environment, social, and governance performance, including leading and supporting internal/external studies and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and participate on cross-functional activities, initiatives, and committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Civil/Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • Master's degree or further training in Environmental Engineering will be considered an asset.
  • Must be registered as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of Alberta.
  • 5 years of experience in process design, asset management, and project management experience.
  • 5 years of experience in working in an operational plant environment will be considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License.
