**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonographer I to join our dynamic team at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the diagnosis and tracking of disease.

**About the Role:**

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform general examinations, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to a high-pressure environment. You will work closely with Radiologists, Cardiologists, Perinatologists, and other medical staff to ensure seamless clinical intervention and patient management.

**Responsibilities:**

As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing patients for examination and reviewing patient history
  • Explaining procedures and obtaining high-quality ultrasound images
  • Assisting with diagnosis, clinical intervention, and patient management
  • Collaborating with medical staff and ensuring effective communication

**Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program
  • Active or eligible registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience working in a hospital setting
  • Completion of certification in both cardiac and general sonography
  • Preceptor experience with ultrasound students
  • Up-to-date AHS Annual Continuing Education

**Estimated Salary:** $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
