Mise en Place Catering is seeking a highly skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team as an Event Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and preparing food for various events, ensuring that every dish meets the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and prepare food for events, including determining portion sizes and costs;
- Possess a strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Develop and maintain inventory records of food, supplies, and equipment;
- Clean kitchen and work areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment;
- Organize buffets and banquets to perfection;
- Meet with clients to discuss event details and provide recommendations on menu options and presentation styles.
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role;
- Educated to secondary (high) school graduation certificate level;
- Proficient in cooking techniques and food safety protocols;
- Able to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods;
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
- A commitment to maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the job.
- Cook Trade Certification;
- Cook Red Seal Certificate;
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate;
- Safe Food Handling certificate;
- Food Safety Certificate.
- Fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines;
