Job Summary

Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing speech language therapy and programming to patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, including meal management issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized speech language therapy plans to promote rehabilitation and improve patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, volunteers, and students working with you to ensure high-quality care and professional development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM).
  • Membership in professional organizations such as Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) or the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with relevant populations, such as individuals with acquired brain injury.
  • Experience with computer-based treatment programs and speech language therapy software.
