Job Summary

The Home Support Worker provides expert care and assistance to clients in their homes, ensuring their safety and well-being. As a valued member of the Simcoe County team, you will demonstrate a commitment to quality services and client-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide personal care to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, in accordance with established standards and nursing principles.
  2. Participate in the activation process to promote the physical, social, and emotional well-being of each client.
  3. Observe and report significant changes in client condition, documenting in the Personal Care Coordinator (PCC) system.
  4. Assist clients with activities of daily living, including laundry, housekeeping, and meal preparation.
  5. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  6. Contribute to the development and revision of policies and procedures related to quality risk management.
  7. Utilize electronic systems and maintain a safe environment.
  8. Take responsibility for own ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality.
  9. Assist in the orientation of new staff members and students.
  10. Participate in educational in-services and identify personal and group educational needs.
Requirements
  • Completion of the Personal Support Worker Certification program or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate reliability and trustworthiness.
  • Good physical condition to meet the demands of the position.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.
  • First Aid certificate and CPR recertification an asset.
  • Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Proof of TB testing and annual recertification.
  • Bilingualism in English and French an asset.
