We are seeking a Senior Tax Professional to join our team at RSM. As a key member of our Business Tax practice, you will be responsible for advising public and private multinational enterprises on their tax matters.

Your primary focus will be on providing technical and quality expertise, people and talent management, and client service and business development. You will work closely with clients to answer their questions and collect necessary information for tax service requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Serving as a career advisor, mentor, or coach to one or more employees, providing honest and timely performance feedback.
  2. Training and developing staff members to enhance their tax knowledge and skills.
  3. Providing detailed reviews and analysis of tax returns, as well as assisting the assurance team with tax provision reviews.
  4. Managing risk for clients and the firm, while working on multiple complex issues and communicating with clients in a client-centric manner.
  5. Advising clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and tax accounting.
  6. Participating in recruitment of junior level staff and remaining up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field of study.
  2. CPA designation.
  3. Working towards or completion of a Master's of Tax or a CPA In-depth Tax Program.
  4. 3 to 5 years of experience in Public Accounting, preferably in a tax-focused role.
  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act and technical aspects of tax compliance and accounting.
  2. Strong technical skills in tax preparation, developing tax focus areas.
  3. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. Experience in dealing with international tax matters and tax review.
