About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sr Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Vancouver-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing automated test cases for APIs and web services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Automated Testing Expertise: Create, maintain, and execute automated test cases for APIs and web services using Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured or similar tools.
  2. Mentor QA Team Members: Mentor QA resources in test automation and provide guidance on best practices.
  3. Test Result Analysis and Communication: Analyze and communicate test results to the team lead and stakeholders.
  4. Team Lead Support: Provide effort estimates and progress reports to the team lead.
  5. Improving QA Best Practices: Ability to contribute to improving QA best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 Years Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in either a (SDE) Software Development Engineer or (SDET) Software Development Engineer in Test role.
  • Backend Automation Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience with backend automation with technologies like RESTful APIs, Web Services, Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured.
  • Strong Background in Java: Minimum 4 years of experience with Core Java and scripting languages.
  • API Testing Expertise: Accomplished abilities in API testing and writing automated tests for mobile platforms.
  • Database and Scripting Knowledge: Sound knowledge of database CRUD operations, Unix commands, scripting.
  • DevOps Experience: Exposure to working in a DevOps environment such as installing, configuring, and integrating Automation scripts on Continuous Integration tools (CI/CD) like Jenkins.
  • QA Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in QA.
  • Git Experience: Experience using Git.

This position requires relocation to our Vancouver office.
