About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Business Partner to join our team at Costco Wholesale Canada. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting the overall administration of our benefit program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the benefit inbox and respond to email enquiries regarding employee benefits
  • Act as a liaison between employees, warehouses and our external benefit providers
  • Prepares various financial analyses using a variety of programs such as Google Docs, Word, and Excel for benefits, payroll and other ad-hoc reporting
  • Performs and coordinates internal audits and compliance reviews
  • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile budgets and accounts
  • Audit/reconciles, analyzes, and provides creative solutions/recommendations to resolve and clarify issues for large complex files/data using Excel or any other tools
  • writes and verifies journal entries required to update the GL accounts each period
  • Communicate with third-party vendors, US payroll/Finance department, consultants, government, or other parties
  • Prepare payments to 3rd party vendors
  • Work collaboratively with Costco IT teams to make changes to and adjust system configuration when required, including testing changes prior to implementation
  • Provides and ensures prompt, courteous, and accurate service/support to all locations

Requirements

  • Two years experience in accounting, finance or equivalent is required
  • Experience in the Benefits, Payroll, or Human Resources field, is preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP, Employee Central, and Workforce Central systems or other, is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs is required
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills is required
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision is required

Benefits

This is an in-office position based in our Ottawa office. Employees will be eligible for a hybrid arrangement after 90 days of employment. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the success of Costco Wholesale Canada. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous retirement plan. The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000 per year.
