About the Role:

Metal Fabricator - Layout and Assembly Specialist

Mitmann Carriers Inc. is seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team. As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for laying out reference points and patterns, planning the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently, and assembling and fitting plates and sections to form structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lay out reference points and patterns to ensure accurate cuts and assemblies
  • Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently, minimizing waste and maximizing productivity
  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures, ensuring precise fit and finish
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines, including cutting, drilling, and welding equipment
  • Construct patterns and templates to aid in the fabrication process

Requirements:

  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in metal fabrication
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Initiative and reliability
