Job Title: Drywall Taper

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our team at KDT Interiors. As a Drywall Taper, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints, as well as installing suspended metal ceiling grids and placing panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Install suspended metal ceiling grids and place panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Clean and prepare surfaces
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces
  • Fabricate and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Work Environment:

The work environment is dusty and noisy. The work setting is commercial, industrial, residential, and urban area.
