Medical Director – Port Alberni, West Coast Leadership Position

The Medical Director – Port Alberni, West Coast is a key leadership position that plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality medical services at Island Health. As a co-leader, this individual will work closely with other medical professionals to drive continuous quality improvement and ensure efficient service delivery.
Main Responsibilities- Leadership and Governance: Collaborate with Departmental Medical Leaders to address physician governance issues, including professional medical practice matters.
- Operations and Quality: Establish processes to engage physicians and staff in quality improvement initiatives, monitor program budget and performance, and ensure timely resolution of patient safety events.
- Change Management: Co-develop and implement change management plans to support physicians and staff through organizational changes.
- Informatics and Technology: Oversee activities that advance technology and data use to improve service delivery, working closely with the Quality Systems team.
- Planning and Resource Allocation: Assess and prioritize program resource needs, working with medical and administrative leaders to ensure effective resource utilization.
