We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career Development Specialist to join our team at WCG International Consultants Ltd. As a key member of our employment services team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients in achieving their employment goals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist clients with initial eligibility determination, identity verification, and client sign-in
- Remind clients of appointments via phone
- Conduct Client Needs Assessments with eligible clients to develop individualized action plans
- Collaborate with clients to update and revise action plans, ensuring alignment with policy
- Manage client case files in our primary information system, documenting client progress and results
- Monitor client progress, verifying engagement and ensuring documentation requirements are met
- Collaborate with other organizations to coordinate client services and financial supports
- Provide services in a welcoming, safe, and professional environment, ensuring client privacy is protected
- Stay up-to-date on employment programs and funding sources that clients may be eligible for
- Participate in community and employer events to promote client services
- Research and identify employers and sector opportunities on behalf of clients
- Demonstrated experience in customer service, coaching clients, and working with individuals with complex barriers and inclusion groups
- Successful track record helping clients overcome barriers to meet identified goals and targets
- Knowledge of the local labour market, community resources, government programs, job search techniques, career development, and issues relating to unemployment
- Solid understanding of confidentiality and professional codes of conduct; must submit to a criminal record check
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education, or human resources management) preferred; or equivalent experience
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work Monday to Friday in Centre
- Flexibility and ability to work in different locations in the catchment
- Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) Designation
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Experience in the Employment Services Sector
- Experience with provincial government and other online tools such as ICM and online employment services
- A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
