Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at Island Health. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.

About the Role

In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating CT scanners, radiation therapy equipment, and other medical devices to produce high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment. Your expertise will enable our patients to receive timely and accurate diagnostic results, facilitating informed treatment decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners, radiation therapy equipment, and other medical devices to produce high-quality images
  • Position patients safely and comfortably for procedures
  • Record and process results of procedures, ensuring accurate documentation
  • Explain procedures and side effects of radiation to patients and their families
  • Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment
  • Record and process patient data, maintaining confidentiality and security
  • Provide appropriate care and monitoring of patients during examinations
Credentials

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
  • Certification by a provincial or territorial association
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working on-site at one of our Island Health facilities. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.

Island Health offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
