Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Children's Hospital is a dynamic and collaborative workplace, where team members, youth, families, staff, and physicians work together to provide exceptional care to children and families in inpatient units and ambulatory clinics. As an Electroneurophysiology Technologist, you will play a vital role in performing standard neurophysiology tests on children, including routine EEG. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, utilizing the principles of family-centered care, to meet the diagnostic needs of this patient population. As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills, effective interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform appropriate tests on all age groups, utilizing various electrode application methods and explain testing procedures to clients/patients and family.
  • Observe physical changes in the patient during testing, prepare results, and/or interpret findings for/with physician.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain patient records.
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment by performing maintenance, calibration, cleaning, and detecting any equipment malfunction, making minor repairs or reporting the need for major repairs to the appropriate person.
  • Inform the physician of urgent examination results and resolve unusual or complex cases or refer concerns to the appropriate individual(s).
Required Qualifications:
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
  • Graduation from a formal Electrophysiology Program or successful completion of a recognized in-house training program.
  • Qualified to complete or completion of Canadian Board of Registered EEG Technologists examination.
