Inspector Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Inspector to join our Elevating Devices Program. As an Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections of elevating devices to ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and standards.

You will also provide consultative and safety management services to industry customers and the public, including educating them on existing and emerging safety priorities. This role requires a passion for safety and a commitment to delivering results.

Responsibilities

  1. Inspect elevating, amusement, and ski lift devices to ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and standards
  2. Carry out investigations, assist in prosecution cases, and provide expert witness testimony to resolve/reduce non-compliance
  3. Conduct on-site reviews of incidents, equipment failures, and respond to public inquiries relating to unsafe operating conditions
  4. Work closely with colleagues to enhance team performance and identify customer service delivery improvements
  5. Provide feedback and constructive input regarding investigations
  6. Write reports, directions, and correspondence simply, clearly, and logically

Requirements

  • Mechanical, electrical, engineering, or millwright certification
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical, electrical, millwright, or engineering backgrounds
  • Knowledge and application of Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Knowledge of the Technical Standards & Safety Act and related elevating devices
  • A self-starter who establishes own schedules, plans, and priorities and delivers on time
  • A valid Ontario driver's license for daily travel
