Key Responsibilities- Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide stimulating activities and social interaction to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including laundry, housekeeping, and nutrition
- Work collaboratively with the Nurse and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods
- Grade Xll education required
- Health Care Aide Certificate from recognized program
- Foundation to Therapeutic Recreation or willing to obtain
- Food Handler Training Certificate or willing to obtain
- Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills, including Outlook/Email, and ability to adapt easily to online training programs
- Minimum of one-year recent relevant experience preferred
- Experience working with an older adult population
- Demonstrated compassionate, empathetic, and nurturing personality
- Demonstrated ability and desire to care for the older adult population
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing situations
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in both official languages is essential for this position
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality and maintain resident privacy
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
- All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy
