The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within a people-centered approach at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a key member of the healthcare team, the LPN applies the nursing process to support clients in achieving and maintaining their optimal level of health.

The LPN works to the full scope of their practice, engaging in ongoing education and maintaining competency in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, and the Regulated Health Professions Act.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French) is essential.
  • Current active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) is required.
  • The LPN must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) certification and Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) certification are also necessary.
  • The LPN must demonstrate the ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment that supports quality services, quality improvement, and staff empowerment.
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility to meet the demands of the position are essential.
  • The LPN must be able to effectively perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position and demonstrate ongoing professional growth and competency relevant to practice area.
