Job Summary:
Mircom Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate assembly of electronic components using complex machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, run, and troubleshoot Auto-insertion and SMT machines with minimal downtime and supervision.
- Perform quality inspections using Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI), Golden Sample, or Bills of Material (BOM), and log results on the First Off template of the Manufacturing Order (MO).
- Conduct safety checks and perform preventative maintenance as required.
- Maintain PCB stock accurately, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Visually inspect all boards after processing on the machines.
- Manage and track stock accurately using Integrated Materials Management Software.
- Work in a safe and organized manner.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Machine operator certification is an asset.
- Three years' experience using Auto-insertion and SMT machinery.
- Ability to read work orders, follow production drawings, and understand verbal instructions.
- Experience with current IPC class 2 standard for proper insertion, placement, and reflow of components.
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes.
- Knowledge of electronic components and electronic assembly is an asset.
- Knowledge of set-ups, programming, and adjustments is an asset.
- Soldering experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, highly accurate, and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), crouch, bend, walk, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to perform mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
