Retail Store Operations Manager

The Harvard Variety Store is seeking a Retail Store Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail store. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all sales activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Assign sales workers to duties, maximizing their productivity and efficiency;
- Authorize payments by cheque, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial protocols;
- Order merchandise, maintaining optimal stock levels and meeting customer demands;
- Establish work schedules, balancing employee needs and business requirements;
- Sell merchandise, providing excellent customer service and promoting products effectively;
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters, informing strategic decisions;
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints, supply shortages, and other operational challenges;
- Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing waste;
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers, fostering a positive and productive work environment;
- Manage cash, adhering to security protocols and preventing losses;
- Conduct performance reviews, assessing employee progress and identifying areas for improvement.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar position;
- A permanent employment status;
- Fluency in English as the primary language of communication;
- 37.5 hours of work per week, with flexibility to adapt to changing demands;
- Basic computer skills, including MS Outlook;
- Availability of public transportation near the workplace;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stand for extended periods;
- A cellular phone for official use.
We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This estimate is based on industry standards and location factors. The actual compensation package may vary based on individual circumstances.
