Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Aviation Security to lead our Aviation Security operations at Vancouver International Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of security services, ensuring the safety and security of our clients and their assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to align with the company's overall vision and goals.
    • Collaborate with senior management to ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Operations Management
    • Manage and monitor key performance indicators for all aspects of service delivery.
    • Implement and document streamlined processes to enhance efficiencies and communication among teams.
    • Ensure all services meet the standards of the company's Quality Assurance Audit process.
    • Oversee execution of contractual agreements for staff and customers.
  • People Leadership
    • Recruit, retain, and develop operations and administration teams to meet business goals.
    • Provide regular performance feedback and support professional growth through development plans.
    • Act as a mentor to regional branch managers.
  • Business Development
    • Develop and maintain key account relationships.
    • Pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
    • Participate in proposal strategy development and deliver presentations to customers and partners.
Requirements
  • University degree or relevant experience in airport operations, personnel management, business management, human resources, and/or security.
  • Security certification/designation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in an operational setting of a service business.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic/business planning, operations management, people leadership, and business development.
  • Preferred experience in the security industry or law enforcement, particularly within aviation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and close new business.
  • Financial acumen to analyze results and drive performance.
  • Strong understanding of customer service concepts and a commitment to ensuring customer loyalty.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows, MS Office, MS Project, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
