Job Summary

The Italian Centre Shop is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Produce Clerk to join our team. As a Produce Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the produce department is performing in an effective and efficient manner at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rotating produce in cooler and on floor regularly to maintain a visually appealing display
  • Working in coolers to put produce away and maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Stocking shelves and bins with fresh produce to meet customer demand
  • Cleaning and packaging produce for displays to ensure high-quality presentation
  • Assisting customers in locating items and providing excellent customer service
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area, free of debris and hazards
  • Assisting with shipping and receiving of produce to ensure timely and accurate delivery
  • Marking incoming produce with receiving dates to ensure accurate inventory management
  • Suggesting products to customers to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • High School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred
  • A minimum of one year experience in a customer-focused role, preferably in a retail or food service environment

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all times
  • Work independently with little direct supervision
  • Have a well-balanced concern for both task and people
  • Have a genuine concern for the needs of customers
