Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Brandt is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Edson and surrounding areas. As a key member of our Edmonton Construction & Forestry branch, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the working condition of heavy equipment, diagnose issues, and repair or replace parts as needed.
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate related instruments, hand and power tools, and computer systems.
- Document all work orders accurately and completely, including machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
- Conduct regular safety assessments to ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
- Utilize computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
- Order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
- Road test equipment and check attachment operation as needed.
Required Skills:
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to work with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
- Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
