Job Summary:
The York Region District School Board is seeking a qualified instructor to teach computer science, engineering, and robotics courses. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science and engineering, as well as experience in teaching and curriculum development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach computer science, engineering, and robotics courses to students in grades 10-12
- Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students and aligns with the Ontario curriculum
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent
- Strong background in computer science and engineering
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Canadian certification or eligibility for certification
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
- Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and assessment practices
