Job Summary:

The York Region District School Board is seeking a qualified instructor to teach computer science, engineering, and robotics courses. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science and engineering, as well as experience in teaching and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach computer science, engineering, and robotics courses to students in grades 10-12
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students and aligns with the Ontario curriculum
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent
  • Strong background in computer science and engineering
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Canadian certification or eligibility for certification
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
  • Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and assessment practices
