Airport Security Officer Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced security professional to join our team as an Airport Security Officer at Halifax Stanfield International Airport. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all passengers, workers, and flight personnel.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Monitor the Primary Security Line (PSL) at various gates and access points to ensure only authorized individuals have access to restricted areas
* Conduct regular patrols of airport facilities to identify and mitigate potential security threats
* Respond to emergency situations and act as incident commander until relieved by first responders
* Collaborate with the Security Operations Centre (SOC) to detect, respond, and manage emergencies

**Requirements:**

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
* Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
* Discretion when handling confidential information
* Ability to pass a security clearance and hold a RAIC
* Valid Driver's License with at least 3 years of driving experience
* First Aid and CPR certification

**Education Requirements:**

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* First Aid and CPR certification
