MORTISE GLASS & SHOWER DOORS LTD. is seeking a skilled Glass Cutter to join our production team. As a Glass Cutter, you will be responsible for operating finishing machines to grind, drill, sand, bevel, decorate, wash or polish glass or glass products. Your tasks will include setting up and adjusting glass and glass product finishing machines, visually inspecting products for quality, and operating machines that press or blow molten glass in moulds to form or shape containers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain shift log of production and other data
  • Record manufacturing information such as quantity, size and type of goods produced
  • Set up and adjust glass and glass product finishing machines
  • Visually inspect products for quality
  • Operate machines that press or blow molten glass in moulds to form or shape containers
  • Set up or adjust automatic glass feeding, flowing and forming machines
  • Spray or swab moulds with oil solutions to prevent adhesion of glass
  • Weigh, measure and check production samples to assess conformance to specifications

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control skills

Working Conditions:

  • 40 hours per week
