We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team at Island Health. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution and be registered with the BC College of Social Workers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and family assessments in mental health settings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide trauma-informed and culturally safe care.
  • Provide crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and individual, family, and group therapy services.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Utilize strong case-management skills to coordinate client care and services.
  • Exercise initiative and judgment to prioritize tasks and manage complex cases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals through verbal and written means.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community agencies and resources to support client care.
  • Develop and lead groups, and provide public speaking services as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training or certification in therapeutic modalities or specialized interventions.
  • Experience working in psychiatric paediatric settings or related fields.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and tertiary care health environments.
