Electronics Engineer Job Description

At PML Sound International, we're seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to join our Ottawa team. As a key member of our design center, you'll be responsible for creating innovative audio products that exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware requirements and specifications.
  • Design, prototype, and test high-performance audio circuits to achieve exceptional sound quality.
  • Work closely with software engineers to ensure seamless integration and compatibility between hardware and software components.
  • Partner with PCB layout designers and mechanical engineers to refine designs and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Test and analyze hardware prototypes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing design modifications.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including system and subsystem specifications, testing procedures, and production instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical performance and EMI-related issues, recommending repairs or design modifications.
  • Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in board-level circuit design, EMI compliance testing, and troubleshooting electrical performance issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a Sherlock mentality when it comes to finding root causes for electrical performance and EMI-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of audio electronics, embedded systems, and C and Python programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Audio Precision test equipment and Altium Designer software.
