Job Title:

Associate Professor of Forensic Analytical Toxicology

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor of Forensic Analytical Toxicology to join our faculty at the University of Toronto Mississauga. The successful candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry and toxicology, with a demonstrated ability to teach and conduct research in these areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in forensic analytical toxicology and related areas
  • Conduct research in forensic analytical toxicology, with a focus on developing new methods and techniques
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Department of Anthropology and other departments on campus to develop and implement new programs and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain a strong research program, with a focus on securing external funding and publishing research in top-tier journals
Requirements:
  • PhD in Chemistry or Toxicology, with a focus on analytical chemistry and forensic toxicology
  • Strong teaching and research experience in forensic analytical toxicology and related areas
  • Demonstrated ability to secure external funding for research projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a forensic laboratory or as an independent forensic consultant
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance protocols and accreditation processes for forensic labs
  • Experience teaching and mentoring students from underrepresented groups
