Job Summary

Okanagan College seeks a qualified Vocational Instructor - Early Childhood Education (On-Call) to join our team.

About the Position

This is an on-call position that may include evening and weekend work. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of early childhood education programs and teach courses related to early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  1. Teach courses in early childhood education, including instructional duties such as teaching assignments, course preparation, and student evaluation.
  2. Develop and maintain curriculum for early childhood education programs.
  3. Provide guidance and support to students in early childhood education programs.
  4. Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field of early childhood education.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • A current License to practice as an Early Childhood Educator.
  • An Instructor's Diploma or valid BC Teacher's Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment is preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience working with young children.
  • Experience in curriculum development is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established strong community partnerships will be considered an asset.
  • Several years of recent teaching experience is an asset.

Salary and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $71,846 to $115,129. Normal starting salary is between $78,872 and $85,897 annually, dependent on relevant education and experience. Okanagan College offers a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health and dental coverage, pension plan, and paid vacation time.
