Pathologist Assistant
About the RoleIn this challenging and rewarding role, you will work closely with pathologists to perform comprehensive gross examinations of surgical specimens and forensic autopsies.
You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating gross morphological characteristics of disease in different organs, as well as troubleshooting specimen/tissue discrepancies that may impact patient care.
This position requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals.
Salary InformationThe salary range for this position is $42.25 - $53.29 per hour, reflecting your exceptional skills and experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited Pathologists' Assistant Master's Program (MSc) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified (or eligible for certification) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the Canadian Association of Pathologists (CAP) as a Pathologist Assistant.
- Strong knowledge of forensic terminology and dissection techniques, as well as proficiency in voice dictation systems such as Dragon Software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot specimen/tissue discrepancies.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
