As a Carpenter Helper at Iron Home Renovation Inc., you will be responsible for assisting our skilled carpenters in various construction tasks. Your duties will include loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials, reading blueprints to determine work requirements, and assisting in erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.

The ideal candidate will have no degree, certificate, or diploma, but will be willing to train. You will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads and working under pressure. You will be required to perform routine maintenance work, remove rubble and other debris at construction sites, and tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.

We are looking for someone who is accurate, client-focused, dependable, and has excellent oral communication skills. If you are a team player who is hardworking and flexible, we want to hear from you.

Tasks:

  • Load, unload and transport construction materials
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
  • Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
  • Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Pave and rake asphalt
  • Assist in demolishing buildings
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
