**Job Summary**
The Medical Lead, Saanich Peninsula Primary Care Clinic, is a key leadership position responsible for driving the delivery of high-quality primary care services at the Peninsula Health Unit. As a co-leadership role, the Medical Lead works closely with the Clinical Director, Saanich Peninsula, Salt Spring Island and Outer Gulf Islands, to enhance teamwork and facilitate continuous quality improvement of episodic primary care services.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Leadership**: Co-lead activities to ensure physicians and staff work collaboratively to monitor and improve service delivery, and link with Division Heads and Chiefs of Staff to address matters of physician governance.
- **Operations & Quality**: Implement processes and structures to engage physicians and staff in continuous quality improvement of service delivery, and monitor team budget and performance.
- **Change Management**: Act as a change management champion to engage and support physicians and staff through change.
- **Informatics**: Lead team activities that advance technology and data use to improve service delivery using the electronic health records (EHR) in collaboration with the Quality Systems team.
- **Planning**: Assess, monitor, and anticipate team resource needs, and work with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.
**Requirements**
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and staff to drive quality improvement initiatives. A strong understanding of primary care services and the ability to navigate complex healthcare systems is essential.
