**About the Role**

At Southbridge Care Homes, our Dietary department plays a vital role in ensuring our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for preparing meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Review and prepare food according to standardized recipes and production sheets.
  • Assist the Food Services Manager in their absence, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Monitor food quality and quantity, recommending corrective action when necessary.
  • Coach Dietary Aides in food preparation procedures and serving activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.

**Ideal Candidate Qualifications**

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Meet one of the following qualification scenarios:
    • Chef training or culinary management certificate/diploma from a recognized program.
    • Certificate of qualification as a Cook issued by a recognized authority.
    • Post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition.
  • Red Seal Cook Trade Certification is preferred.
  • Experience in institutional large quantity cooking is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to provide direction and lead others in a fast-paced environment.
