Care Support Assistant

At Spencer House, we're committed to providing exceptional care and support to our residents. As a Care Support Assistant, you'll play a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming environment that promotes the well-being and dignity of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily care and support to residents, ensuring their comfort and welfare needs are met.
  • Support residents in preparing for and participating in community events that promote a positive resident experience.
  • Act as a resident companion, providing comfort, support, and companionship as directed.
  • Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleaning up, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Complete laundry and housekeeping duties, including restocking shelves, making beds, and organizing closets.
  • Participate in admission orientation and transfer processes, ensuring a smooth transition for residents.
  • Transport residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, and health office as required.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate and WHMIS certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to model the warmth of human connection in communicating with residents, families, and visitors.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with seniors.
