Job Summary:

AGAT Laboratories is a leading provider of laboratory services, offering a wide range of analytical solutions to various industries. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, reagent preparation, and calibration of instruments.
  • Provide general laboratory support, including glassware washing, cleaning workstations, and waste disposal.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot intermediate instruments, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Compile, verify, and validate accurate data records, meeting quality assurance and turn-around specifications.
  • Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Report results and provide data to laboratory supervisors and other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory supervisors or management.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Science Degree, preferably in a related field.
  • Previous laboratory work experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with MS Office and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a mature work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds from time to time, with hand-eye coordination and good physical stamina.
