Job Summary:


As a Deli Manager at Fortinos, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of the deli department, ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining high-quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Customer Service: Provide courteous and timely service to customers, maintaining a friendly and personalized experience.
  • Deli Department Management: Direct and supervise deli staff, ensuring efficient and courteous customer service.
  • Product Ordering: Order deli, cheese, and pasta products, as well as supplies.
  • Department Organization: Organize and set up the department, ensuring proper signage and displays.
  • Price Changes: Process price changes and identify "special" items.
  • Sales and Profit Maximization: Maximize sales and gross profit, meeting sales goals and budgets.
  • Damage and Return Management: Handle damages and process returns.
  • Employee Training: Train new employees.
  • Scheduling: Schedule deli clerks, controlling wage costs.
  • Compliance: Interpret and administer Company policy, ensuring compliance with the union contract.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Safety: Maintain equipment and ensure the safety and sanitation of the department.
  • Customer Relations: Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.

Requirements:



  • Customer Service Skills: Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years' deli experience in a retail grocery environment, with previous management experience an asset.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
