About the Role
We are a global mining company dedicated to safely delivering nickel, copper, cobalt, and platinum group metals essential for the world's energy transition. Our metals are integral to life-saving medical equipment and the electric vehicles driving the fight against climate change – our work truly matters.
As a Senior Geologist, you will provide geological support for Long-Range, Mid-Range and execution team at our operations. This is a permanent position that requires a strong understanding of geological data collection and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support short and mid-range geology functions at site, with collaboration with the Engineering department and Operations.
- Mentor execution geologists in all aspects of geological data collection and reconciliation.
- Compile and review geological data to create or update and document geological models and mineral resource estimates.
- Support Scoping, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility studies for various ore bodies & projects for our operations.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to facilitate integration of mineral resources and mine designs into geological database applications to support grade control practices and Mineral Reserve and Mineral Resource reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
- Minimum of five years of progressive relevant experience in an underground mining environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Ability to visualize and interpret 3D geological data for modelling and grade interpolation.
- Knowledge of Mining, Milling and Refining Processes.
