About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Quality Improvement Specialist to join our Quality and Patient Safety team. This individual will play a critical role in leading quality improvement initiatives, enhancing patient safety, and optimizing operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in quality improvement science, human factors engineering, and project management, with a strong understanding of healthcare systems and processes.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement evidence-based quality improvement projects to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and trust in Humber River Health's patient care services.
- Lead the analysis of current practices and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes using change management principles.
- Collaborate with clinical programs to implement recommendations that improve patient and staff safety, completing safety reviews, investigating incidents, and analyzing data to identify trends and implement solutions.
- Foster a culture of quality improvement, safety, and risk reduction throughout the organization.

Requirements

- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Healthcare required; Graduate degree in Engineering or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Professional Engineering (P. Eng.) license recognized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) preferred;
- Regulated Health Professional (e.g., RN, Clinical Psychologist, Pharmacist) or Physician licensed to practice by the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in leading patient experience quality improvement initiatives; Demonstrated computer skills using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
