Job Title: Senior Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team in Calgary, AB. As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for providing drafting and design support in the delivery of various projects across the recreation, healthcare, institutional, education, industrial/manufacturing, and commercial sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a certificate or diploma in related mechanical engineering or engineering technology from an accredited University or College with emphasis on mechanical buildings design. They will also have experience in collaborative design with expertise in Autodesk Revit, BIM360, and proficiency in AutoCAD.

The Senior Mechanical Designer will be responsible for building systems design and support, including preparation of mechanical contract drawings, schematics, and schedules focused on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. They will also perform design and engineering tasks, conduct site reviews and surveys, and generate engineering reports.

The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written English communication skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and be self-motivated. They will also have a keen attention to fine details of a project or task and be able to perform work accurately with strong technical aptitude.

CIMA+ offers a hybrid work policy, which will require the ability to commute to both the Calgary office and to various work sites as required. However, this arrangement also offers the flexibility of some teleworking privilege based on performance, experience, business, and mentoring needs.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma in related mechanical engineering or engineering technology
  • Experience in collaborative design with expertise in Autodesk Revit, BIM360
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with municipal and provincial codes, ASHRAE, and NFPA
  • 10+ years of technical design and engineering experience
