As Senior Manager, AI Risk Governance, you will be responsible for driving AI risk governance activities and contributing to the overall success of the Data and AI Risk team in Canada and globally. This includes implementing the AI Risk Program Plan and associated activities in assigned North American and/or International Scotiabank business unit(s), and/or subsidiaries. You will also provide expertise and advice to the first line of defense on AI risk controls, metrics, compliance, and risk mitigation, as well as designing and implementing AI risk frameworks, policies, procedures, and processes in collaboration with risk partners.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing strong partnerships with other risk functions and business partners to provide professional advice and guidelines for AI risk mitigation.
- Conducting assessment of AI control design and operating effectiveness developed and implemented by the first line of defense.
- Maintaining and enhancing AI risk documentation (procedures, assessments, testing, and reporting).
- Assisting in executing periodic and ad-hoc reporting to the Board, CRO, Risk Committees, including collection of metrics and creation of dashboards and reports.
- Contributing to developing AI risk metrics and monitoring relevant metrics for assigned portfolio.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to design and develop AI risk awareness training.
- Exercising sound judgment in identifying, reporting, and escalating risks or issues to senior management.
