Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, prototyping, and testing, with a keen interest in the medical device industry.

This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing mechanical components and systems for prosthetic devices. You'll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop, refine, and manufacture prosthetic solutions that change lives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Product Development and Testing: Conceptualize, design, and optimize mechanical components and systems for prosthetic devices.
  • CAD Software Proficiency: Use CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360) to create and refine designs.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes using additive manufacturing, machining, or other methods.
  • Testing and Compliance: Conduct and document functional, durability, and fatigue testing. Ensure compliance with relevant medical device regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA).
Required Skills & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in product development (medical devices, prosthetics, or related field preferred).
  • Technical Skills:
    • CAD Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).
    • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing mechanical systems.
    • Familiarity with Materials: Familiarity with materials commonly used in prosthetics (e.g., metals, polymers, composites).
    • Manufacturing Experience: Hands-on experience with traditional subtractive and/or additive manufacturing.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Problem-Solving: Strong independent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
