Dynacare Job Posting: Medical Laboratory Technologist

Job Summary:
Dynacare is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Microbiology team in Kelowna, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering timely clinical and scientific quality with a variety of testing using the latest technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
  • Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results.
  • Maintaining accuracy of appropriate documents.
  • Troubleshooting of clinical assays and equipment.
  • Identifying and reporting of incidents and non-conformities.


Requirements:
  • You thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self-manage in fast-paced environment.
  • You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment.
  • CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level.
  • Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Nice to have: experience in Molecular/PCR Testing.

  • Repetitive fine motor movements of hands
  • Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions
  • Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials
