Job Summary

We are seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our team in Amherst, Nova Scotia. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our primary care services.

About Our Team

Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre (CRHCC) is a modern facility located in Upper Nappan, just outside of Amherst. We offer a wide range of programs and services, including primary and secondary care through in-patient, outpatient, and satellite services.

Responsibilities
  • Examine patients, take their histories, order diagnostic tests, and laboratory procedures; advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention.
  • Consult with other medical practitioners and refer patients as needed.
  • Act as a patient advocate and ensure that their needs are met.
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations.
  • Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other requirements as per Nova Scotia Public Health regulations.
Qualifications
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
  • Member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
