Job Title: Physiotherapy Assistant - Rehabilitation Specialist

At CANADA INC., we are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapy Assistant - Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients with various injuries or disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer evaluative tests and procedures to assess patients' physical abilities and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Assist health care professionals, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists, in the assessment and treatment of patients.
  • Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities.
  • Develop information materials for patients and their families to promote understanding and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Examine adult clients to assess hearing loss, recommend type of hearing instrument, take earmold impressions, and perform follow-up examinations and readjustments.
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients and provide ongoing support and guidance.
  • Maintain inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products, as well as prescription records.
  • Make decisions on tests and procedures, and operate ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments as needed.
  • Position patients for treatments by chiropractor or machine, and record test results and medications given by ophthalmologists.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment, supervise technical and support staff, and administer budget.
  • Confer with other health professionals, collect statistics, and maintain clinical and progress reports.
  • Connect treatment machines to patients, as directed by chiropractor, and maintain inventory of equipment.
  • Assist chiropractor with physical examinations, conduct research in physiotherapy, and perform general clerical duties.
  • Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas, process files and paperwork, and schedule and confirm appointments.
  • Take earmold impressions, fit and adjust hearing instruments, and take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history.
  • Manage routine office functions, including reception, telephone, and booking appointments.
  • Teach and/or supervise exercises to patients, order supplies and equipment, and organize and maintain inventory.
