Job Title: Bakery Clerk

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bakery Clerk to join our team at the Italian Centre Shop. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and ensuring the highest quality products are available to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bakery department, adhering to company standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and package bakery products, including bread, pastries, and cakes, to ensure they are presented in an attractive and appealing manner.
  • Operate electrical printers to price bakery items accurately and efficiently.
  • Stock and maintain bread walls and bins, ensuring that products are displayed in an attractive and appealing manner.
  • Assist bakers with preparing various products, including cookies, cakes, and rolls.
  • Wash and clean baking supplies, adhering to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
  • Check products for damage or expiration, documenting any issues in the shrink binder.
  • Participate in cleaning the bakery area, coolers, floors, oven, and other equipment.
  • Actively engage with colleagues to promote a positive company culture and encourage teamwork.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school system or program.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a customer-focused role.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, maintaining a professional image.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.
