Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join our team in Port Mellon, British Columbia. This full-time permanent position will involve directing technical programs for process and quality improvement under the supervision of the Manager, Technical and Environment.
Main Responsibilities- Carry out technical projects involving process improvements and technological changes that impact product quality.
- Lead Process Chemists, Technicians and Technologists as assigned by the Manager, Technical & Environment.
- Stay up-to-date with all aspects of pulp and paper manufacturing at HSPP including product costs and available industry technology.
- Identify waste or loss of time, material or equipment and take corrective action.
- Develop the skills and capabilities of junior staff working under your direction to ensure they contribute to the mill's objectives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager, Technical & Environment.
- B.A. Sc. in Chemical Engineering.
- 5-7 years demonstrated industry experience.
- Able to plan, organize, execute and work to specific goals and objectives relating to process design work.
- Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills.
- Strong data analysis and visualization ability.
- Excellent time management, prioritization and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
